Light wintry mix to north, rain to south; Flood Watch in effect for Monday

Flood Watch is in effect from 7 a.m. Monday, Feb. 11, to 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, for the following counties:

  • Butler, Clark, Champaign, Clinton, Greene, Montgomery, Preble, Warren, Wayne (Indiana) and Union (Indiana)

Tonight: Dayton will mainly see light showers, mist and fog throughout the remainder of the overnight hours. Areas to the north of I-70 could see a light wintry mix. Minimal snow accumulations are expected. A freezing drizzle is slight possibility at this point.

Monday: With temperatures staying above freezing, any precipitation by sunrise will likely fall in the form of rain for areas south of I-70. Those to the north could see a brief wintry mix before warmer air transitions all precipitation in the Miami Valley to rain. Showers are possible all day, especially to the south of Dayton, but the bulk of rain will arrive in the late afternoon and last through the evening and overnight hours. High temperatures on Monday will approach 40 degrees.

Tuesday: Rain continues and lasts throughout a majority of the day. Due to extensive rainfall and saturated soil, flooding is likely to occur. Winds will increase with gusts as high as 40 to 45 mph possible. High temperatures climbing into the low to mid 50s.

Wednesday: Much colder and windy with a chance for snow showers early. Highs in the upper 30s.

Friday: Cloudy with rain likely. Highs near 50 degrees.
