Christina Xenos, Dayton-area native and co-author of "Opa! Healthy Greek Cookbook," will host two cooking classes this weekend, Dec. 21 and Dec. 22, 2019.

Christina Xenos, Dayton native and co-author of "Opa! The Healthy Greek Cookbook," will host two hands-on Greek baking and cooking workshops in Kettering this Saturday, Dec. 21 and Sunday, Dec. 22.

The Saturday cooking class will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.. The Sunday event will be from noon to 3 p.m. The classes will be held at a private residence in Kettering. The specific address will be sent to the attendee once tickets have been booked.

“It's a unique opportunity to learn (how to make) these particular cookies, and people will be able to take home a box of cookies in addition to the recipes for them,” Xenos said.

Xenos grew up in Kettering and served as her class president at Fairmont High School in 1998. The author says the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Dayton was a catalyst to her cooking career.
