Hall had a 19-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter of the 31-7 victory, accounting for the team’s first pick six of the season. He also had a pass defensed on a fourth-down play from the Cincinnati 23 in the fourth quarter, and his six tackles included limiting Rams ballcarriers to gains of one, minus-one and two yards.
“I love it,” Bengals safety Reggie Nelson said Sunday of Hall’s pick six. “He always gets all the pick sixes. He is just lucky. He always gets the easy walk-ins.”
The interception marked Hall's third career pick six in regular-season play and his fourth overall with one in the 2011 postseason at Houston. It was second interception of the season and 26th of his nine-year Bengals career, which moves him ahead of Lemar Parrish (1970-77) for fourth place all-time in franchise history.
The Player of the Week award is the second for Hall and the team’s fourth weekly or monthly AFC award this season. Hall’s first AFC honor came in Week 16 of the 2008 season when he recorded a Bengals record-tying three interceptions, including one for a 50-yard touchdown, in a 14-0 win at Cleveland.
Cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick is the last Bengal to win the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award, collecting the honor last season for Week 16 against Denver.
