The first time the Bengals played on a Thursday was against Cleveland in 1983, a 17-7 loss.
This week’s game will mark the first time the Bengals have played a Thursday night game at home since 2006 when they beat the Baltimore Ravens 13-7.
“Even though Cleveland’s not traveling that far, it’s definitely an advantage for us,” Bengals left tackle Andrew Whitworth said. “It definitely helps to be at home because of the time you get to spend in the cold tub and the time you get to get treatment. All those kind of things are tough to deal with when you go on the road. There’s just not enough time for them.”
