Report: 'Virtually no chance' Sanu returns to Bengals

Wide receiver Mohamed Sanu is unlikely to re-sign with the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Alex Marvez of Fox Sports.

Sources told Marvez there is "virtually no chance" Sanu, who is due to become a free agent March 9, will end up back with the Bengals.

Sanu has started 34 games in his four-year career with the Bengals, but saw his numbers dip this season with fellow wideout Marvin Jones and tight end Tyler Eifert returning from injuries.

Sanu, relegated to the team's fourth option in the passing game behind A.J. Green (86 receptions, 1297 yards), Jones (65-816) and Eifert (52-615), caught just 33 passes for 394 yards.

Jones also is set to become a free agent and has said he will not give the Bengals a hometown discount.

Former Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson, now the head coach of the Cleveland Browns, might have interest in both Sanu and Jones.

Stay tuned, Bengals fans.
