Paul Manafort, the controversial campaign manager for Donald Trump, blamed the plagiarism accusations toward Melania Trump on the Clinton campaign. Clinton spokesperson Jennifer Palmieri said the accusation was ridiculous. It was the second consecutive day Manafort made headlines. Monday, he attacked Ohio Gov. John Kasich on MSNBC in the morning before the Republican National Convention started. Kasich strategist Jeff Weaver responded in an email to the New York Times, taking shots at Manafort's ties to Eastern European autocrats by accusing Manafort of "being on the lam with thugs." Manafort was campaign manager for Ukraine ex-President Viktor Yanukovych when the country revolted and Yanukovych went in exile in Russia, prompting the Russians to invade Crimea.
