New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he was at the convention not as a member of any party or part of a platform, but wanted to say Hillary Clinton should be elected President of the United States.
Bloomerberg said he had differences with both parties, and listed some of those differences. He also said he sometimes has disagreements with Hillary Clinton, but despite that she needs to be president.
"I was elected two months after 9-11 as a Republican, and I saw how she worked with Republicans to help rebuild New York. It's the kind of approach we need today and it needs to start in the White House."
"I often push business leaders to run for office because they are pragmatic, but most know they aren't smart enough to know everything, and know they are only as good as their word, but not Donald Trump."
Bloomberg said Trump has left behind record numbers of lawsuits, bankruptcies, broken business deals. If he was elected, "God help us."
He hit Trump on what he said were hypocrisies in how he handles himself and what he has said as a candidate.
"He wants you to think trade barriers will bring back good jobs - he's wrong."
"Trump is a risky and radical choice. ... Hillary is the right choice. No matter what you think of her politics of record, she understands this isn't reality TV - it's reality. She understands the job of president. It means offering solutions, not fear."
