Former judge to head investigations for state medical board

The Ohio State Medical Board hired retired Franklin County Common Pleas Court Judge David Fais as its deputy director in charge of investigations, enforcement and compliance.

Last year, Fais was blocked from running for re-election due to legal age limits. The Republican had served on the bench for 26 years.

The State Medical Board licenses and regulates more than 68,000 health care professionals, including doctors, anesthesiologist assistants, acupuncturists and genetic counselors.
