Ohio Governor John Kasich will be on Meet the Press with Chuck Todd this Sunday, amid new speculation that he will run for president.
The Northeast Ohio Media Group reported Thursday the second-term republican governor is soon to announce a national political committee—which is a step towards running for the presidency. This committee is not a formal candidacy announcement, but will allow Kasich to raise money at a national level.
This is not the first time Kasich has made a move towards a presidential run—he formed an exploratory committee in 1999, but dropped out before the Iowa Straw Poll.
Kasich appeared on Meet the Press several times as a congressman and governor. He served as Chairman of the House Budget Committee from 1995-2001, and has been Governor of Ohio since 2011.
