Mums the word on run for governor

When asked if they'll be running for governor in 2018 and here is what the statewide officeholders on a media panel Thursday had to say:

Attorney General Mike DeWine: I think it's premature to be talking about 2018.

Auditor Dave Yost: I think it is too early to plans but I will make this announcement -- I will not be a candidate for governor.

Secretary of State Jon Husted: That is a great 2017 question and this is 2016.

Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel has expressed interest in running against U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown in 2018 and Lt. Gov. Mary Taylor, who was not at the media panel, has indicated she may want to run for governor.

Each of them is barred by term limits from running again for their current offices.
