U.S. Rep. Paul Ryan may be the next speaker of the the U.S. House of Representatives and while he may not be from Ohio, he does have ties to the same area as current Speaker John Boehner.

Ryan graduated from Miami University in Butler County in 1992. Boehner of course represents Butler County in Congress and lives in West Chester Twp.

Ryan was last at Miami in 2012 when he was running for vice president on the Republican ticket with Mitt Romney.

“Wasn’t Goggin Ice Arena right here?” he joked with the energized crowd of GOP supporters in August 2012.

Ryan belonged to the Delta Tau Delta fraternity while he was at Miami.
