Sittenfeld raises $757k but voters don't know him

Democrat P.G. Sittenfeld raised $757,043 in the first quarter of 2015 for his run for U.S. Senate next year, his campaign said.

Campaign finance reports are due April 15.

Sittenfeld, who is a Cincinnati City Councilman, and former Gov. Ted Strickland have announced they're running for the Democratic party nomination in the U.S. Senate race. The winner would face incumbent Republican Rob Portman.

An independent poll from Quinnipiac University released Monday shows Strickland leads Portman, 48-39 percent, but Portman leads Sittenfeld 47-24 percent. Eighty-nine percent of Ohio voters say they don't know enough about Sittenfeld to have an opinion of him.
