The Hill: 7 GOP presidential candidates may drop out before Iowa

ExploreScott Wong in The Hill has an article today looking at some of the Republican presidential candidates that may drop out of the presidential race before the Iowa caucuses in February.

Is Ohio Gov. John Kasich one of them?

No.

Kasich has been rising in the New Hampshire polls and made the top 10 for the Fox News debate stage last week.

The candidates Wong lists are:

Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry
Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul
Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal
Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum
South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham
Former Virginia Gov. Jim Gilmore
Former New York Gov. George Patak

If Wong's right, Kasich is going to do much better this time around than he did in the 2000 race. He dropped out of that presidential race in July 1999, long before the Iowa caucuses.
