Allcare Dental says it is transferring patient records

Allcare Dental & Dentures, the national dental care chain that abruptly closed without notifying customers, on Wednesday reported “positive developments” in Ohio and other states.

On allcareinfo.com, Allcare said former patients in Boardman in northeast Ohio have had their dental records transferred to other local dental practices.

The company also said it is working to transfer patient records in other areas.

“If your office was not mentioned above, please don’t get discouraged. Allcare is working day and night on all locations,” the company said.

Allcare operated about 40 offices in several states before the company shut down.

Lili Reitz, executive director of the Ohio State Dental Board, said patients who need continued care should go to a licensed dentist as soon as possible.

Reitz also said former patients should try to obtain copies of dental records from Allcare, but she couldn’t say how they might do that, with the company’s phone lines and main website down. She also advised patients to contact attorneys.
