Apple co-founder to speak at Wright State

Steve Wozniak, Apple co-founder and designer of the Apple I and Apple II, will speak Wednesday at Wright State’s Nutter Center as part of the Presidential Lecture series.

The Silicon Valley icon helped shape the computing industry with his design of Apple’s first line of products—the Apple I and II, which influenced the popular Macintosh.

His presentation, which is free and open to the public, will take place at 7 p.m. in Wright State Nutter Center.

Wozniak and Steve Jobs founded Apple Computer Inc. in 1976 with Wozniak’s Apple I personal computer. The following year, Wozniak introduced his Apple II personal computer, featuring a central processing unit, a keyboard, color graphics, and a floppy disk drive. The Apple II was integral in launching the personal computer industry.

Wozniak currently serves as chief scientist for Fusion-io.

The lecture series a variety of thought leaders, scholars, adventure seekers, philanthropist, and movers and shakers to the Wright State campus.
