Bossle, Brand promoted at Dayton Freight

Dayton Freight Lines, Inc., a leading provider of regional less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation services, announced the promotion of Sherri Bosslet to Director of Customer Relations. Bosslet started in 2000 as a part-time Customer Service Representative at the company's Columbus Service Center while attending The Ohio State University. Upon graduation, she became an Account Manager in Columbus and then transferred to the Dayton Service Center as an Account Manager in 2005. In 2007, Bosslet was promoted to Corporate Customer Service Manager.

As Director of Customer Relations, she will be responsible for planning, directing and overseeing Dayton Freight’s customer service policies, objectives and initiatives. Bosslet will develop and guide all procedures that govern a customer’s experience and satisfaction with Dayton Freight.

Katie Brand was promoted to Director of Employee Relations. Brand started with Dayton Freight in 2006 as a Management Trainee after graduating from Ohio University with a degree in Human Resource Management. She was the Human Resources Project Coordinator for several years, and in 2012 was promoted to Human Resources Manager.

Brand will be responsible for all Human Resource and Benefits processes, programs and functions. Key areas include employee recruitment, retention and building strong relationships and communications with the Dayton Freight workforce. This newly-created position will help the company to better serve their almost 4,000 employees and prepare for future growth.

McDowell named CEO at non-profit

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Warren & Clinton Counties (BBBSWC) has announced the selection of Matt McDowell, a former Little Brother, as Chief Executive Officer.

Prior to joining BBBSWC, McDowell was the Director of Partnership & Fund Development for Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Greater Miami Valley, where he led the organization’s fundraising and business partnerships.

He also held positions with Congressman Mike Turner in Washington, D.C. and Dayton, and CHOICES Foster Care in Kettering, OH. He grew up in the Dayton area and graduated with an Associate Degree from Sinclair Community College, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Wright State University.

As a former Little Brother, Matt knows first-hand the importance of the Big Brothers Big Sisters mission, and how 1-to-1 mentoring can change the lives of children for the better, forever.

New hire made at Energny Optimizers

Energy Optimizers, USA, has made several strategic hires that will strengthen the company’s response to its clients and raise its profile in the energy management market.

Russ Morningstar, Field Engineer: Morningstar has 23 years of experience in building automation and controls with a focus on energy management. He holds a refrigeration-universal level license, geothermal technician certification and socket fusion welding certification. Morningstar's numerous certifications in building automation and direct digital controls integration and service include Trane, Carrier, Honeywell and Tridium. He additionally holds HVAC certifications for Bryant, Carrier, Honeywell and York, among others.

Ray Robinson, Senior Account Executive: Robinson has more than 35 years of experience working with Ohio's K-12 school districts in energy efficiency solutions. He applies his proven expertise with energy auditing, energy conservation project design and project management to tailor specific solutions for each school district he serves. Robinson holds a bachelor's degree from Bowling Green State University.

Brandon Workman, Business Development/IT Specialist: As a business development/IT specialist for Energy Optimizers, USA, Brandon, Workman is charged with educating school districts and other public entities about the cost-effective energy conservation options available to them by designing flyers, tradeshow booths and other marketing materials. He additionally oversees the company's technology needs. Prior to joining Energy Optimizers, USA, Brandon spent more than a decade as a sales representative for diverse industries, including telecommunication, pharmaceutical and industrial. He holds a master's degree in Communications and a bachelor's degree in English.

Toni Byrnes, Office Manager: As office manager, Byrnes helps ensure client needs are met by providing expert office management and administrative support duties. She brings more than 20 years of management-level support experience to the team. Byrnes previously worked for a physician's office as well as the corporate healthcare market.

RESTAURANT

Frisch’s names Vaught as new CEO

Frisch's Big Boy has announced restaurant-industry veteran Jason Vaughn as its new CEO. Vaughn has spent 25 years in the restaurant industry and brings a proven track record of success to Frisch's Big Boy Restaurants.

Vaughn most recently served as president and chief operations officer of Memphis-based Lenny’s Subs, where he led the effort to update the image of the brand’s 110 locations nationwide. Prior to that, he was a division vice president for Wendy’s International, where he led a billion-dollar portfolio in annual sales with an employee base of 21,000.

Vaughn was hired after an extensive seven-month national search. He officially started with the company on Thursday, April 14, 2016.
