Ikea, the world’s largest furniture retailer, will host an all-you-can-eat holiday smorgasbord on Dec. 13 at all of its U.S. stores, including the one at 9500 Ikea Way in West Chester Twp., company officials announced.

The Swedish Julbord, a classic holiday dinner in Scandanavian countries, will be hosted in the store’s restaurant, officials said. The feast features traditional Swedish foods such as Swedish holiday ham, smoked salmon, Swedish-style meatballs with lingonberries, among other offerings.

“The Julbord is a fun way for us to share our Swedish roots with our customers, and give them a break from their holiday shopping,” said Donna Fitzgerald, Ikea Food commercial manager, in a statement.

The Julbord will be held from 5-9:30 p.m. Entertainment by “Swedes in Greater Cincinnati,” with a St. Lucia procession around the store and singing by children and adult choirs, will start at 6:15 p.m.

Tickets are $12.99 per person, and $4.99 for children ages 12 and under, available at Ikea. Seating is limited, officials said.

Ikea has 338 stores, including the one in West Chester Twp., that employ 154,000 people in more than 40 countries.
