Kettering native creates presidential game

Just in time for Tuesday’s Ohio primary election, a local native is marketing his small presidential trivia business.

Matt Law, a Kettering native and Miami University graduate, launched Presidential IQ last November. Presidential IQ is a board game similar to Trivial Pursuit, but it focuses on a variety of topics that U.S. presidents have encountered throughout American history. The game includes 1,200 questions.

Law, an archivist with the National Archives in Perris, Calif., said he’s been fond of American history since growing up as a young man in Kettering.

“I once heard an expert say, ‘follow your desires and turn it into a business,’” said Law, who began his career at a federal record center in Miami Twp. “I started my love of history watching the evening news when I was younger.”

Law said he doesn’t expect to become rich from his new business, but “I’m proud I pursued my dream.” The Fairmont graduate wouldn’t tell me who he was voting for, but said he was leaning toward two candidates.
