The first 100 people in line at 6 a.m. will get a free meal each week for a year.
EARLIER REPORT
Chick-fil-A will open a 132-seat restaurant in the Cornerstone of Centerville development at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, and the first 100 people in line at 6 a.m. will receive a digital coupon booklet for one free Chick-fil-A meal per week for a year.
The restaurant at 5301 Cornerstone N. Blvd., located on an out-lot facing Wilmington Pike near the Costco Wholesale store, will open with 99 employees — 81 new hires and 18 employees who transferred from the Chick-fil-A at 1482 Miamisburg-Centerville Road in Washington Twp., Marla Davis, franchise owner for both restaurants, said Monday.
Chick-fil-A has given away more than $26 million in its “First 100 in Line” promotion since it started in 2003. Participants can begin lining up at the Cornerstone store 24 hours in advance, at 6 a.m. Tuesday, a Chick-fil-A spokeswoman said.
A digital offer card loaded with a one-year supply of free Chick-fil-A Meals — 52 meals consisting of a Chick-fil-A Chicken Sandwich, medium waffle fries and a medium beverage — will be given to each of the first 100 eligible adults, ages 18 and older with identification, in line when the doors open at 6 a.m. Wednesday. If more than 100 people are on site when the line officially forms at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 1, then all 100 spots will be determined by a drawing held that morning with those selected needing to camp out for 24 hours to secure their spot, Chick-fil-A officials said.
The giveaway is open only to adults residing in specific zip codes within about 25 miles of the restaurant. A complete listing of eligible zip codes and rules can be found at www.chick-fil-a.com/Locations/First-100.
Diners also can bring new children’s books between Wednesday through the opening weekend to be placed in a special Book House that serves as a free library exchange.
The Chick-fil-A restaurant in Washington Twp. will shut down for four to five weeks next spring to accommodate a $1 million expansion and renovation, said Davis, the franchise owner for both the Cornerstone and Ohio 725 locations.
The remodel will take place over a two-month period. The restaurant will remain open during the first four weeks of the project, then shut down for four to five weeks while the work is completed, Davis said.
