The existing store, 2626 N. Fairfield Road, first opened in 1995. The 40 employees there will work at the new location nearby, and New Jersey-based Toys“R”Us said it is adding an additional 20 full- and part-time employees at the new store.
A grand opening weekend is planned for April 5-7.
“Integrating the Toys“R”Us and Babies“R”Us brands in one location is a key initiative for the company, and our customers nationwide have been responding favorably to the convenience and breadth of selection these stores offer,” said Troy Rice, executive vice president of stores and services, in a statement.
The store is relocating within the same shopping center, called Beavercreek Shopping Center, according to Beavercreek’s planning and zoning department.
Other anchors in the shopping center include HomeGoods, LA Fitness, PetSmart, Michaels and Five Below.
Toys”R”Us is moving a couple tenant spaces down to vacant space, formerly occupied by Dick’s Sporting Goods that moved to The Mall at Fairfield Commons around 2005, city officials said.
