Two Dayton companies to keep jobs here with city funding

The city of Dayton likely will contribute $50,000 in grant funding to help two business expand and add jobs.

On Wednesday, the city commission will vote on whether to approve giving $25,000 each in economic development funds to Angstron Materials Inc. and Hohman Plating.

The companies also will receive Economic Development/Government Equity (ED/GE) awards via reimbursements if the commission approves their development agreements.

Angstron plans to invest more than $1 million to acquire and renovate a facility adjacent to its home on the 1200 block of McCook Ave., according to city documents. The company plans to retain at least 11 jobs and add 15 more in the next three years.

Hohman Plating, located at 814 Hillrose Ave., pledges to retain 146 existing jobs and add nine new positions in the next three years.

The funding will help Hohman with building improvements and the purchase of new plating equipment, city documents say.

Hohman will get $25,000 in ED/GE reimbursements through the city. Angstron will receive $40,000 in reimbursements.
