'Anne of Green Gables' reboot headed to Netflix

"Anne of Green Gables" fans, get ready for some serious nostalgia.

According to The New York Times, a new TV series based on the iconic children's series by Lucy Maud Montgomery is headed to Netflix and the Canadian Broadcasting Corp.

The Times reports that the eight-episode reboot, called "Anne," may be "edgier" than previous adaptations because Moira Walley-Beckett, who worked on "Breaking Bad," wrote the new series.

The show, which is being produced by Northwood Entertainment and directed by Niki Caro, will air on CBC in Canada and on Netflix worldwide next year, Entertainment Weekly reports.
