Berry is a full-time farmer who has written more than 50 works of fiction, nonfiction and poetry “that explore themes of community, conservation and the quiet power of living a simple and slower life.”
Last year’s winner of the Holbrooke Award, Tim O’Brien, will present the award to Berry. Finalists for the 2013 Dayton Literary Peace Prize will be announced in mid-August.
