The Place: The Dock, Enon
Menu Highlights: Seafood, steak, chicken, pasta and sandwiches. Appetizers include The Coral Reef onion flower, $6.99, and Oysters on the Half Shell (8 steamed and served with cocktail sauce), $14.99. Seafood included Poor Man's Grouper, $14.99, and Blackened Ahi Tuna, $18.99, both favorites. "Turf" specialties include Fillet Mignon, $20.99/6 ounces, $23.99/9 ounces, and Rib-eye Steak, $20.99/10 ounces.
What I had:
- Rum Runner, $5.85: The Dock's most popular cocktail, this delicious concoction features flavored rum, grenadine and pineapple juice.
- Fried Cheese Curds, $4.19: If you've never tried them, I encourage you to do so. They're battered and crunchy on the outside, warm and chewy on the inside. An order comes with marinara sauce, but ranch dressing is also available. I had both and prefer ranch over marinara.
- Seafood Portobello, $18.99: Start with strips of portobello mushrooms, add crab meat and shrimp, then top with creamy sauce, mozzarella, Parmesan and herbs. The "Sea Port" is one of The Dock's most popular dishes. It's loaded with cheese.
- Peanut Butter Pie, $4.99: Slathered with chocolate sauce and whipped cream, this dessert is a sweet ending to a delectable dining experience. It's smooth, silky and indulgent.
Extras: There's a lovely outdoor patio as well as an indoor patio. I like to eat outdoors beneath a brightly colored umbrella, next to the lily-pad pond, where I can watch the koi fish swim about.
The Dock is a bit off the beaten path, but the relaxing environment, and good food and drinks are well worth the trip. From I-675, take Exit #24-OH-444/Enon. The restaurant’s near downtown Enon.
