8 best breakfast restaurants in town

There is nothing like a hearty and/or healthy breakfast to get you going in the morning and/or afternoon.

Luckily the Miami Valley has its fair serving of places to get your breakfast food fix.

Here are eight of our favorite places in no particular order. Share your choice spots below.

Where: Blueberry Cafe, 72 Bellbrook Plaza, Bellbrook (937) 848-5900

Why: The food at the Blueberry Cafe is as good as it smells, plus there is a Muffin Man.

Tony Darden spreads the muffin love Mondays, Tuesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Open: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily

Where: The Breakfast Club Cafe & Coffee Roastery, 102 N. Broadway St., Lebanon (513) 932-0210

Open: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily

Why: Stuffed omelets and unique dishes like the breakfast enchilada — a 12-inch tortilla covered with a white sauce and melted cheddar cheese after being stuffed with scrabbled eggs, peppers, sausage, cheddar, and yes, cream cheese. The Breakfast Club's first location was in Downtown Dayton at the intersection of South Main Street and South Patterson Boulevard. The restaurant that replaced that location, The Brunch Club, still serves some Breakfast Club recipes and some good ones of its own.

Where: Golden Nugget Pancake House, 2932 S Dixie Dr, Kettering, (937) 298-0138

Time: Tuesday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. - 3 p.m;. Saturday and Sunday, 6:30 a.m.- 3:30 p.m.

Why: You haven’t been to Dayton until you have eaten at this local favorite. Good, reliable food is what you will find.

Where: Legacy Pancake House, 510 N Keowee St, Dayton, (937) 222-2037

Open: 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday; 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday

Why: Good food at a great price. What could be better?

Where: Original Pancake House, 1516 Miamisburg-Centerville Road, Washington Twp., Montgomery County 937-438-5720

Open: 7 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday through Friday; 7 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Why: Thick-cut bacon, yummy potato pancakes and the Dutch Baby German pancake with butter, lemon and powdered sugar. The Washington Twp. location is the only Original Pancake House store in the Miami Valley.

Where: Bunny's Hasty Tasty Pancake House, 3509 Linden Ave., Dayton (937) 254-8431

Open: 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily

Why: Founded by restaurateur Charles R. Poston and now owned by Mike Hackman, this retro greasy spoon is celebrating its 61st anniversary. Good service, a fun atmosphere and breakfast on a dime.

Where: Butter Cafe, 1106 Brown St., Dayton (937) 985-9917

Open: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday; 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday

Why: Good selection of good ingredients combine to make fresh breakfast in this sunny cafe. Several gluten-free and vegetarian options. Plus, singer Sarah McLachlan is a fan.

Open: 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily

Why: Fresh ingredients and wonderfully healthy omelets like the Healthy Turkey —

an egg white omelet with onions turkey, tomatoes, spinach and feta cheese.
