Qdoba to close 67 restaurants

Qdoba will close 67 "underperforming" restaurants nationwide, according to this story from Nation's Restaurant News.

Jack in the Box Inc., Qdoba’s parent company, told NRN that it plans to close 67 company-operated locations of Qdoba Mexican Grill by September, about 10 percent of the fast-casual chain’s system. The company did not identify which restaurants would close, but appears two Dayton-area locations are not on the closings list.

The burrito/Mexican chain has restaurants at 2781 Centre Drive in Beavercreek, and at 2008 Miamisburg-Centerville Road east of the Dayton Mall. But both Dayton-area restaurants are franchise-owned, not company-owned, a Qdoba store manager said this morning. That means those stores would not be among the 67 restaurants targeted for September closing.

The Denver-based chain has about 650 locations, of which about 340 are company owned.
