A Mexican restaurant chain has shut down two of its southwest Ohio locations, including one in West Chester, while the pair of Dayton-area restaurants are continuing to operate.

Qdoba announced last month that it would close 67 "underperforming" restaurants but did not identify which restaurants were on the hit list, other than to confirm that the 67 were among the 340 company-owned locations and did not include any of the 310 franchise-owned locations. The two Dayton-area Qdoba restaurants in Washington Twp. and Beavercreek are franchise-owned and are open and operating "business as usual," a manager of the Qdoba at 2008 Miamisburg-Centerville Road near I-675 said this morning.

When the Mexican restaurant chain made its announcement, company officials said the targeted restaurants would close by September. But the Qdoba location at 9220 Allen Road in West Chester and at 6173 Glenway Road in west Cincinnati are among those that have closed, according to the Qdoba Cincinnati Facebook page.

A patron of the Glenway Road location posted on the Facebook page that the restaurant was closed as of July 9. Six other Qdoba locations in the Cincinnati area — including a second in the West Chester area at 7687 Doc Drive — remain open, according to the Qdoba Cincinnati web site and to a manager at the second West Chester location.

Wheat Ridge, Colorado-based Qdoba is owned by the San Diego-based Jack in the Box restaurant chain.
