Trouble signs for 5-month-old Italian restaurant

There are multiple trouble signs for Roma’s Pizza & Pasta restaurant, which opened in Fairborn just five months ago.

The restaurant’s telephone number has been disconnected, and there was no activity at the restaurant during a lunchtime visit last week. The Roma’s Facebook page includes comments from frustrated customers who have stopped by or called since early January but found no response.

There is no sign on the door alerting customers about the restaurant’s status. Attempts to reach Roma’s owner Labinot Troni to determine whether there are plans to relocate or reopen the restaurant were unsuccessful.

Roma’s Pizza & Pasta opened in August 2013 at 1888 Col. Glenn Highway near Funderburg Road, in space that formerly housed Jac & Do’s Pizza.

Troni, whose extended family owns or operates several Italian restaurants in the Kettering area, said the week after Roma’s opened that he had always wanted to operate his own place. “It’s like my biggest dream, and here I am,” he said.
