Dire Strait's Frontman Mark Knopfler Makes Fraze Appearance

Best known as founder, vocalist and lead guitarist of Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler has also held an equally successful solo career. Knopfler first garnered international acclaim for his songwriting and musicianship with Dire Straits.

Their sound was unlike anything else on radio. Knopfler’s gruff singing and exquisite guitar playing defined Dire Straits and helped Brothers in Arms become one of the best-selling albums of all times. Single “Money For Nothing” reached the top of the charts and won a Grammy®. Follow-up hits included “Walk Of Life” and “So Far Away”—both of which reached the Top 10.

After Dire Straits dissolved, Knopfler embarked on a solo career during which he has been collaborating with other music legends, producing albums, scoring films and creating his own albums.

Shangri-La, Knopfler’s fourth solo album, was released in 2004. Join us as this true songster uses his smokey voice and fluid guitar to weave fascinating stories and lyrics with some of the most engaging melodies he has ever devised.
