According to Vox, the "Killing Eve" star took home the Golden Globe for best actress in a TV drama, becoming "the first woman of Asian descent" to win the award since "Shogun" star Yoko Shimada in 1980. In addition, Oh, who won a Golden Globe for best supporting actress in 2006, became "the first woman of Asian descent to win multiple Golden Globes," Vox reported.
Oh also "was the first person of Asian descent to host" the awards show, Vox reported.
As she accepted her latest award, Oh thanked her parents in English and Korean.
"Mostly, there are two people here tonight that I am so grateful that they're here with me. I'd like to thank my mother and my father," she said, adding in Korean, "Mom and Dad, I love you."
Fans shared their emotional reactions on Twitter:
I can't really tell you how incredible it was to hear Sandra Oh thank her parents, in front of the world, in Korean. I'm literally crying. Every time I see Sandra succeed in western media, I feel liberated, I feel seen, I feel like i have a future. Thank you Ms. Oh. #GoldenGlobes

For the longest time, umma (엄마) and appa (아빠) were the only Korean words I knew. It sends chills through my soul to hear @IamSandraOh say it on stage. #GoldenGlobes pic.twitter.com/nZVPB5FnGO
