Panel: Beavercreek restaurant has best chicken wings

A Beavercreek restaurant is top chicken.

A panel of judges voted Pies and Pints Craft Pizza and Beer , 52 Plum St. at The Greene in Beavercreek, best wings at Kickin' Chicken Wing Fest 2014.

The Miami Valley Restaurant Association event was held Saturday at the Fraze in Kettering.

Amy Zahora, MVRA’s executive director, called Pies and Pints chargrilled wings tasty and juicy.

Sidelines Sports Bar and Grill, 4090 Wilmington Pike in Kettering, came in second in the close race, she said.

About 14,000 people attended the festival that featured wings from 10 area restaurants.

People's Choice for Best Damn Wing once again went to Nick's Restaurant, 1443 N. Detroit St. in Xenia.

Romer’s Bar and Grill, 4439 W Franklin St. in Bellbrook, came in second in that category.

Other winners from the judges’ panel:

Best Boneless: Buffalo Wings and Rings, 894 S Main St, Centerville

Best Sauce: Brixx Ice Company, 500 E 1st St, Dayton

Best Side: The Dock Food and Spirits (Chicken Po' Boy), 250 W Main St., Enon

Hottest Wing: Archer's Tavern (Wing and a Prayer sauce) 9496 Dayton-Lebanon Pike, Centerville
