5 reasons the Browns are better than the Bengals

I stopped caring about the NFL when the Browns left Cleveland in 1995. I have blocked out much of what I know about football. But if I am sure of any two things, the STEELERS SUCK and the Browns are better than the Bengals.

I know that is a controversial statement in these parts, but it is a fact.

FACT!

This has nothing to do with the quality of the people who root for these two similar, but very different teams.

Fans of both squads are decent, hardworking people.

The Browns are just better.

You can see for yourself when the teams do battle at 1 p.m. Sunday at FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland.

Until then, ponder my top five reasons the Browns are better than the Bengals.

Better fans

Cincinnati's Who Dey-ers can not carry The Dog Pounds' chew toy. Fans may have lost their franchise, but they helped the city get it back. That is commitment.

Hating the Steelers longer

Like Browns fans, Bengals fans find those particularly Terrible (this year) Towel-waving yahoos in Pittsburgh distasteful. That is commendable.

Browns fan are just better at hating the Steelers.

Browns have been doing it longer. The team was established in 1944, the Bengals in 1967. The Browns/Steelers rivalry is the oldest in the American Football Conference. The Steelers also hate the Ravens (the traitor team that left Cleveland). When it comes to that particular rivalry, I wave the Terrible Towel.

Black, orange and white is an inferior color collection than brown, orange and white. The Bengals seemingly draw inspiration for their costume from Tygra, of ThunderCats fame. Maybe he should be their mascot. Roar!

Browner

The Bengals might as well be called the Hand Me Downers, as they were founded by Paul Brown, the first head coach of the Cleveland Brown. The Browns were named after Brown. Copy cats.

Better alumni

One name — Jim Brown.
