Flatts on their backs? Rascals wrapped up in murder on ‘CSI’

If having Rascal Flatts in your town this weekend isn’t enough access, you’ll have a chance to see them on television next month.

Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney will appear in an episode of “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” on March 4.

The episode is titled, “Unshockable.” Get it? It’s a play on the “Unstoppable” tour name.

But there’s nothing unshockable about the episode.

In fact, one of the band members is electrocuted by his own guitar during a concert.

Then it is up to the CSI staffers to decide if it was a terrible accident or a case of murder. That’s right. One member — or more — of the band may have offed another.

“One of the guys — and tear out my fingernails, but I won’t say who — will become the victim of a crime,” CSI executive producer Carol Mendelsohn told Entertainment Weekly. “The other two ‘Rascals’ will be suspects ... thus, jeopardizing the future of the band.”

It’s an upgrade for the group as Rascal Flatts appeared on the unfortunate sitcom “Yes, Dear” in 2006. In that shark-jumping episode near the end of the show’s run, they also played themselves.

Back to the Nutter Center concert. Let’s hope things go smoother there than they did on the “CSI” set.

“CSI” airs locally from 9 to 10 p.m. on Thursdays on WHIO-TV (Channel 7).
