These restaurants are open and serving on Christmas Day

Some Miami Valley restaurants will share the holiday spirit by opening on Christmas Day.

We’ve assembled a list of restaurants that responded to an online and print solicitation to let us (and you) know they will be open and serving something special on Dec. 25. Some of these restaurants are filling up fast, or have already filled slots in the most popular times, so those planning to go out to eat on Christmas Day should not delay in making reservations. Even if reservations are not mentioned or required in the following list, it would be a good idea to call the restaurant first, to avoid disappointment.

One restaurant chain — Denny’s —said it served more than 1.3 million guests last year on Dec. 25, making Christmas the diner chain’s busiest day for the third consecutive year.

Some restaurants, including Carvers Steaks and Chops (937-433-7099) in Washington Twp. and Neil’s Heritage House in Kettering (937-298-8611) , are planning special Christmas Eve dinners, and are accepting reservations.

The following list doesn’t include the many sports bars and pubs in the region that open Wednesday afternoon and will be open for their regular hours Wednesday night. Several Chinese carryouts and other Asian restaurants also will be open. Call your favorite to find out their plans.
