Billy Bob Thornton is coming to town — and you won’t believe why

Two things: Billy Bob Thornton is coming to town and he's coming to town to play rock.

Kid you not.

The Boxmasters will perform at J.D. Legends, 65 Millard Drive, Franklin starting at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11.

General admission tickets are $20 ro $24 and available on Eventbrite.com. 

VIP tickets are $75 to $115.

The band is far from a new thing for Thornton, an Academy Award winning actor who is also known as Bud Thornton.

Founded in Bellflower, Calif., a little more than a decade ago, the band is led by Thornton on drums and vocals.

The band also includes J.D. Andrew and Teddy Andreadis

The group worked with legendary engineer and producer Geoff Emerick on the new album Speck.

It has appeared on “The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and  “Live with Regis & Kelly.”
