Images that capture the artistry of nature by Brother John Lemker will inspire you to get outdoors.

Lemker’s photography exhibit, ‘Captivating,’ was sparked by “the engaging beauty of nature.” The show, with 60 archival print, is on display through Jan. 20 at Gallery St. John in Beavercreek.

Lemker has been a nature photographer for more than 40 years.

“Through my images, I hope to encourage and promote a deep appreciation for the natural and abundant beauty of our country,” he said.

Among the photographs are spider webs covered dramatically in heavy frost, the pastels of fall reflected in a pond and a sweet gum tree bowing gracefully under the weight of ice.

Lemker has been a Marianist Novitiate since 1999. Gallery St. John is located in a 140-acre natural setting called Mount St. John in Beavercreek.

It is a nonprofit entity of the Society of Mary. The gallery showcases the works of the Marianists and their associates in the Dayton community.
