Ever wondered about the historical pasts of some of the Dayton area’s oldest homes?

Embarking on these holiday home tours is your opportunity to journey through homes in neighborhoods that date back to the 1800s and get a little infusion of holiday spirit.

Here is a roundup of holiday home tours you can enjoy this season.

2016 McPherson Town Holiday Home Tour 

Every two years, residents in this neighborhood will open up 10 homes to the public for the holiday home tour. In this year’s lineup are a few homes that have never been included in the tour before.  There will be treats!

WHEN: Nov. 25 – 26

Oregon Historic District Candlelight Holiday Tour 

The Oregon District is once again holding its annual candlelight holiday tour. Guests are welcome to enjoy dining inside any of the restaurants and to meet their tour at the meeting house located at 23 Van Buren St.

Parking is available throughout the neighborhood and in the public lot located at 318 E. 5th St. Victorian sweets, champagne, punch and coffee will be offered at the last home on the holiday tour.

Grafton Hill Holiday Home Tour 

Right across from the Great Miami River in Dayton is one neighborhood full of rich history and gorgeous architecture. Holiday décor and refreshments will be simple pleasures as you enjoy time with loved ones walking on a guided tour through the city’s most extraordinary homes. The tour is set to last about three hours, so hosts are urging guests to arrive at least 15 minutes early. In one of the homes, you'll find three decorated floors with 20 Christmas trees, and warm beverages and refreshments will be served.

Parking will be available at the Greater Love Fellowship parking lot at 235 Superior Ave.

Germantown Holiday Home Tour

The Historical Society of Germantown is hosting the holiday tour through the historical Twin Valley Hotel and some of the most notable homes in the area.

WHERE: 47 W. Center St., Germantown, OH 45327

WHEN: Dec. 4 at 1 P.M – 5 P.M.

COST: $12 - $15. Tickets are available for purchase here or at the Historical Society on the day of the tour between 1 P.M. and 4 P.M.

Tipp City Home Tour 

For years, Tipp City has held home tours that are decorated by homeowners, professional designers and florists. These excursions are tradition to the city and each home is decorated individually. The 2016 tour will feature the charming homes of North and South 2nd street. It's worth noting that Tipp City’s downtown area was named one of the 5 most charming Ohio towns in the November 2016 issue of Ohio Magazine.
