For members of the Books & Co. discount club, one book per customer costs just one penny per page. So for example, a 500-page beautifully illustrated art book for your coffee table would cost only $5.
Any book that has page numbers is game, and there is no book too big or too beautiful. Children’s books and other non-book merchandise are not a part of the sale, however.

“That’s what makes it such an unusual thing because there are just fabulous books in the store and some with a hefty price tag,” said Sharon Kelly Roth, Books & Co.’s public relations manager.
HOW TO SIGN UP FOR DISCOUNT CLUB
To become a member of the Books & Co. discount club, customers pay a once-a-year membership fee of $25 and sign up in store. Book lovers wanting to participate in the sale can also sign up on the day of. The membership comes with tons of coupons and big discounts all year long. Roth said the membership is more than worth it.

This is the first year for the penny-per-page sale at the Dayton Books & Co. location. Roth said the idea came from the Books & Co. headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama, where customers went crazy over the deals.
“You’ll see all sorts of things leaving the store,” Roth said.
