EudoraFest 2019, an all-day celebration on Saturday, Sept. 21, will feature German-inspired kitchen specials and a variety of beer, including their signature Oktoberfest and a Dunkel, according to a Facebook post.
Food and beer are just part of the fun — a variety of games are on tap including the hammer stump, Eudora’s take on the classic Hammerschlagen game.
The game takes place in groups of four, one person gets the hammer at a time and take turns swinging the it at the nail of an opponent. The last person with a nail that is not completely in the stump wins. Sign up starts at 3:30 p.m. and the game starts at 4 p.m.
The men and women’s stein hoist, a Bavarian strength contest, begins at 8 p.m. Sign up is at 7:30 p.m. Participants hold a stein of beer with a straight arms as long as possible. The person who holds the stein longest is the winner.
There is a $5 entry fee to cover the cost of beer and an ID is required to obtain a stein hoist mug, which must be returned after finishing the beer.
The kitchen will be serving a Keener Farm beef sausage special with red sauerkraut and Oktoberfest beer mustard, a Chicken schnitzel sandwich, a German-style burger with sauerkraut and a traditional Bavarian-style pretzel with Oktoberfest beer cheese and Oktoberfest beer mustard.
Eudora’s 20,000-square-foot brewery, taproom and restaurant is located at 3022 Wilmington Pike in Kettering. It has 18 taps of new and classic Eudora beers, craft root beer and nitro cold-brew coffee.
