Kyle Davis has had ‘career-best year’ for Dayton Flyers

That’s ironic because Davis is the glue of the Flyers. He holds everything together with his leadership. He plays tough defense. He hits big shots. His passes are on the mark. He rarely commits a turnover.

The Flyers will honor Davis and his fellow seniors before the final home game of their careers Wednesday against Virginia Commonwealth. Coach Archie Miller talked about Davis on the coach’s show on WHIO on Monday with Larry Hansgen.

“Kyle’s had a career-best year,” Miller said. “The great thing about Kyle is he’s the same person right now that he was on his first day on campus. He loves his teammates. He loves being a part of the team. He does what you want him to do and doesn’t say boo. There’s a lot of seniors that after an injury would expect to be put right back in the lineup, but for the good of the team he said, ‘If you want to do this, I’m fine with it.’ Nothing has dropped off. He made a big 3 from the corner at Davidson. He just seems to be timely and fearless at the same time. He’s very selfless and he’s always been that way. He probably is overlooked by many, but not as much this year because of his production.”
