If things go as predicted, they'll have to make room for a Centerville grad’s movie at the Academy Awards in February.
Hanna Beachler, a product of Wright State University's film and production design program, was the production designer on the Barry Jenkins-directed film “Moonlight.”
The New Orleans-based filmmaker also was the production designer on Beyoncé’s critically-acclaimed HBO special "Lemonade" and the 2016 Academy Award nominated film "Creed."
In its Nov. 29 edition, Variety called Beachler "Hollywood’s production designer of the moment."
An Oscar hopeful, “Moonlight” is the coming of age story of a young, gay black man. It is nominated for a Golden Globe for best drama.
"LA LA Land," which stars Springfield native John Legend, is nominated in the best musical or comedy category.

Beachler is working on the Ryan Coogler-directed film, Marvel's feature “Black Panther.”
She got her big break with Coogler’s independent debut film “Fruitvale Station.”
That film is considered one of the most riveting films of 2013.
