Former Dayton TV reporter gets national attention while reporting on Hurricane Irma

A former Dayton reporter entered the national spotlight for his live coverage of Hurricane Irma’s assault of Florida.

Layron Livingston, now a reporter for WPLG channel 10 in Miami, has been covering the impact of the destructive storm on South Florida.

The former WHIO-TV channel 7 reporter made an intense appearance for ABC's "Good Morning America" Sunday from Hollywood, Fla. During his reporting, Irma was classified as a category 4 hurricane.

Livingston was a reporter and anchor at WHIO before beginning his Florida job in January of 2016.

The Texas native was evacuated from his apartment due to the storm, but stayed in the area to work.
