Mercy Health Partners awarded for being ‘wired’

For the third straight year, Mercy Health Partners, the parent company for Mercy Hospital Fairfield, has been named one of the “100 Most Wired Hospitals and Health Systems” in the nation. The ratings were recently released by the American Hospital Association through its Hospitals and Health Networks magazine.

The “Most Wired Survey” study measured the use of information technology at 1,314 hospitals nationwide. Judges focused on five areas — safety and quality, customer service, business processes, workforce and public health.

Enhanced results from imaging studies help provide earlier detection and better outcomes, according to a hospital press release.

“Winning the ‘Most Wired’ award once again was a great accomplishment for our organization,” said Tom Urban, President and CEO of Mercy Hospital Fairfield. “To win it three times shows that the technology we are implementing is truly making a difference for our patients and physicians.”

According to the release, Mercy Fairfield is beginning to implement a new electronic medical records system that will increase digital connections among all Mercy sites.
