Slutty Ninja Turtles, sexy Mrs. Clauses and skanky bumblebees, I am talking to you and your sisters.
This isn’t one of those ain’t-sexy-Halloween-costume columns.
I am only 22.6 percent prude on my prudist day.
Lady-of-the-night-it-up this Halloween, if you want to. Do your thing. It’s all good. Not judging.
I just think it is more than a little strange that the moment Oct. 1 rolls around so many “upstanding ladies” start planning how they are going to look like strippers, call girls or so-called sluts.
No offense to strippers, call girls or so-called sluts, but I will just come right and say it: “Sexy Halloween costumes” is just code for stripper wear.
Anyone who has ever visited or driven past a store that specializes in stripper attire or has even once seen Jerry Springer knows I am telling the truth.
It seems just a tad hypocritical that strippers and so-called sluts are soooooo bad, but soooooo many so-called dignified women want to to look just like them.
I am calling a spade a spade and a A Sexy Women's Furry Bear Adult Halloween Costume a uniform at a "gentlemen's club."
It is the strangest thing to be certain and something only we women do to make ourselves feel superior.
Men don’t bash Magic Mike types and then leave the house on Halloween party night in nothing but a banana hammock.
This weekend and next, hordes of trampy tax accountants, hot-to-trot librarians and half-naked receptionists will parade around town costumed like trampy teddy bears, hot-to-trot librarians and half-naked hospital candy strippers.
It’s fine really. No shaming here.
But think about your Halloween costume choice (and perhaps those hidden desires) the next time you judge another woman as less than human based on what she does, how she looks or what you think happens in her bedroom.
In a dream world, the Anti-Shamer would be a real-life superhero and everyone would dress like her.
