Police said officers found an individual with a firearm upon arrival to the scene. The suspect was given commands to drop the weapon. Police added shortly after, they shot the suspect.
Chief Kamran Afzal provides initial information on an officer involved shooting on August 23, 2024 in the 900 block of Custer Place. The individual who was shot, had a firearm, and has non-life threatening injuries.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries and is in stable condition.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office will be handling the criminal investigation and the Dayton Police Department’s Professional Standards Bureau will conduct an administrative investigation.
