The National Weather Service in Wilmington is forecasting much colder than normal temperatures this week, with highs unlikely to get out of the low 20s until Thursday. Wind chills could be negative tonight through Wednesday morning.
Residents are encouraged to check on their neighbors to see if they need any help during the cold and to provide proper care and shelter for any pets who go outside.
