Power restored after storms arrive

Nearly 2,000 Dayton Power & Light customers lost power Monday afternoon in Montgomery County as showers hit the region.

A strong cold front pushed through during the afternoon, bringing with it showers and wind gusts, possibly as strong as 25 to 30 mph at times, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

As of 3:50 p.m., the DP&L online outage map showed 1,972 customers without power.

However, fewer than 200 customers were without power as of 4:35 p.m., including 172 in Greene County, 17 in Montgomery County, 3 in Logan County and one each in Clark, Miami, Preble and Warren counties.

At 11:20 p.m., only 11 customers were without power, which included five in Montgomery County, three in Greene County and one each in Clark, Logan and Preble counties.
