George told the voice on the other end of the pendant, “Ga-ga feel and is bleeding.” ADT contacted Xenia dispatch and medics arrived in minutes, transporting McCreerey to a hospital where she received 30 stitches.
A reunion took place Thursday morning between Mrs. McCreerey, George, Xenia paramedics Jason Rodriguez and Cameron Stegall, ADT team member Deborah Kirkland and others at the McCreerey home on North Galloway Street.
McCreerey credits the quick actions of her great-grandson, ADT team member Kirkland, and paramedics Rodriguez and Stegall for saving her life. ADT Security presented the City of Xenia Fire Division with a $5,000 grant.
George received a plastic red fire hat that makes sounds when the button is pushed.
Fire Chief Kenneth Riggsby said, “George is the real hero here.”
