Multiple World War II grenades found in Kettering residence

A box found in the basement of a Kettering home located at Larue and Beaverton Drive contained multiple World War II bombs that led to officers requesting the assistance of the Dayton bomb squad.

A power of attorney was helping to clear the house when the bombs were found.

During the sweep of the house, the bomb squad found a yellow smoke grenade that was live.

The street where the home is located was closed during the time of the search.

Crews said it was the second residential bomb scare in just two days that the Dayton bomb squad had to handle.
