Chimney fire in Brookville does little damage

A residential house fire Monday afternoon that started in the chimney was contained there and kept damage to a minimum, a fire official said.

Brookville firefighters were dispatched at about 4:40 p.m. on a report of a working structure fire in the 3100 block of Crawford Tom Runs Road.

What they found was fire in the flue of the chimney, fire Capt. Ed Ullery said, and fire crews were able to contain the flames there.

There were no injuries and damage to the residence was minimal, he said.
